Vietnam wins bronze medal at World Judo Championship

Vietnamese judo athletes won bronze medals at the 2024 Las Vegas World Judo Championships,

The award was given to Nguyen Quynh Huong and Do Tran Cam Tu in the Ju No Customized Structure U23 women’s category with a score of 380.5.

The gold medal went to Motegi Rinka and Kawahara Akiko of Japan with a score of 401, while the silver medal went to Quartieri Siria and Demola Anna of Italy with a score of 382.5.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tai said: “At this year’s actual Judo tournament, strong teams have traveled to Europe, making the competition for medals extremely fierce.

“However, thanks to careful preparation, Vietnamese athletes are gradually finding the world’s standards. The achievements at this competition reflect the feasibility of our efforts to promote judo in Vietnam after a period of investment and development.”

The major games attracted 282 athletes, 196 men and 86 women, from 32 countries and regions, competing in five championships and five U23 tournaments.
